Favorite Things in February

There are a couple of things that I really loved doing in February such as:

  1. Making homemade pizza from scratch. I've made pizzas before but have never made the dough or the sauce. It turned out really well and I plan on making it at least once a month to replace the frozen pizza we use as a backup meal option for my late days at work.

  2. Having Logan help me make pizza dough! He loves to help! Not just in the kitchen but with anything. I figured it was about time to let him help me with the mixer-he's always been fascinated with it. Now if only I could talk Jared into getting him a play kitchen for Christmas ;)

  3. Checking my pedometer. This sounds totally OCD but I'm obsessed with looking at my pedometer. I have to wear one for the Wellness program at work (it includes a heavy discount on my insurance) and have to have at least 49,000 steps a week. I thought it was going to be a pain but I actually really like it. I can tell why I'm tired at the end of the day when I have accumulated 12,000 (2000 steps is a mile) steps. Working in surgery really is a physical job! I have also found myself taking the long way around and not getting so annoyed when I've forgotten something in the other room-I just think "Ooh! More steps on the pedometer!"

  4. Planning Logan's 2nd Birthday party! So excited!! And can't believe he's going to be 2!

  5. Selling bags on Ebay. I've been selling the bags that I've collected over the years but don't carry. It's going really well and I'm making some extra cash. I'm thankful that I have a shipping expert around-and that his bosses don't mind when he does this at work.

  6. My new knitting bag!! Using some of the money from my Ebay sales I bought myself a new knitting bag-so adorable!

That's about it for the month of February! It's been a great month-hopefully March will be just as great and with warmer weather!

Mommy's Little Helper

Logan has always been really interested in what I'm doing in the kitchen so on Tuesday (my day off) we made homeade pizza's and he helped me make the dough. Here he is helping me pour flour into the mixer. Don't be alarmed the stove is not on :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I came home to this:

Jared had taken Logan up to the church to make and decorate the flowers. So sweet!

Morrill Hall

I've been wanting to take Logan to Morrill Hall because he loves dinosaurs and they have some pretty cool fossils and other displays there. Our good friends Mark and Beth went with us and we had a pretty good time.

Here we are in a rare family picture in front of the Elephant (and Logan's favorite) exhibit

Black Eye

Logan has a black eye :( I was in the basement working out and Jared and Logan were on the stairs about to come down. I hear a "thump" and a scream and then silence (Logan holds his breath when he's really upset). I yelled up to Jared and asked if Logan was okay and he said "nope". Jared can't handle any kind of blood or injuries, so he came running down to me. Logan had a gash under his right eye and it was already turning blue. Apparently he was sitting on the top stair and just fell over and hit the landing, which is wood and there you have it-a black eye. I'm sure it won't be his last.

My Favorite Things in January

Here are some things that I found/received that were my favorite in January.

My new Pottery Barn Calendar Command Center-so handy!

These Vince Camuto wedges that were on super clearance at Dillard's. (They retail for $98 I got them for $30) Sometimes it pays to have big feet :)

This Nook cover by Belkin-so cute and pink. The flap folds around the back and the strap secures it while in use.

Messy Boy

One of Logan's favorite things to do is get out all of our Tupperware, pots and pans, and silverware (just the spoons!) and "cook." It's hilarious! Plus the dog seems to enjoy it :)
