Logan had his very first dental appointment this month. It went really well and he asked some really good questions for a three year old. The dentist and I were both taken aback. After his cleaning and x-rays the dentist brought out this picture book of healthy and not so healthy teeth and he was flipping through it. As he came to the page with the teeth that had cavities the dentist was explaining why that little boy had bad teeth. Logan looked at it for a minute and then looked at Dr. Stark and asked "How did he get better?" Great question!! So she went on to tell him about filings and if you take really good care of your teeth at home you won't need fillings. Teeth brushing and flossing is still a struggle at our house but it's become a little easier. All I have to do is bring up the dentist and the pictures of those cavities and he's a little more willing to let me brush his teeth.

My Favorite Things in May
May was an interesting month-the weather was just strange. From cool and rainy to over 100 degrees (on our family picture day) it was just typical Nebraska I guess. My first 5K, ticks and haircuts it was a full month. Here are some of my favorite things that happened in May.
1. Family pictures. My MIL sent me an email from Living Social that a great deal on a picture session so I decided to do it. We hadn't had Logan's three year pictures done yet and for the price I couldn't pass it up. The photographer was Lex Logan and she did an amazing job! Here are a couple that we really liked. They were taken in the Haymarket downtown.
2. The Glow Run. My first 5K.
Here I am with my coworkers from left to right-Janell, Lewis and Kim.
The Glow Run was held at Haymarket Park and there was a baseball game going on during the whole thing. How distracting for those baseball players.
3. This football helmet hat I made for one of the doctors I work with. That's his number on the back.
4. Defeating this spider that was in my garage. To anyone that knows me this was a BIG deal. I didn't purposely kill it I simply used a snow shovel to scoop it out of my garage. If I killed it in the process then that's it's own fault.
5. I don't know why I like this so much but I really do! Flower decor on my Mud room door.
6. Spring!! At the end of May!! It's finally here!!
One of the trees in our yard in full bloom.
7. Playing board games with Logan-if only his attention span were longer!
8. Logan getting his hair cut before our family pictures-he's just so darn cute!
9. Logan and Jared during children's time at church. Sorry for the grainy photo. I scared the hell out of the lady in front of me taking this one so I didn't want to chance another one.
10. And last but not least a giant fricking tick! Devaney was the victim in this one. At first I thought it was a beetle but then took a second look. I think it's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen-and I've seen a lot of gross stuff!
Well there you have it! May all wrapped into ten kind of weird things!
My Favorite things in April
April was a great month with lots of fun stuff-here are some of my favorites.
1. I don't think I included this in my March post but it was almost the last day of March so it counts for April-my sewing class. I'm not talking fabric here people I'm talking pig feet! One of my coworkers and I took a class so that we can sew during surgery. Cool huh?
3. A rare family picture on Easter Sunday. (This was at the end of March but I had to include it!)
4. My husband's 30th birthday-WOOT!
5. Our trip to St. Louis-a great time had by all!
I hope your April was as fun as ours!
St. Louis Trip
At the end of April for Jared's 30th birthday we all took a trip down to St. Louis to visit Renee. We stayed in a really nice hotel (thanks to Renee and her connections) and had a great time being tourists.
We drove by the arch-we didn't go in because it was raining and we thought it was good enough just to see it. At the time the Mississippi River was flooding (near the arch) and we got some really good pictures of that. We went to the St. Louis Science Center and the St. Louis Zoo-we had a blast. And the best part is that Logan was great-better than I was-during the drive down there.
Me and Logan on the train at the zoo.
Baby camel!!!
One of Logan's favorite things at the zoo! :)
Baby something?
Love those horns!
Okapi-they look like half Zebras.
A kangaroo that had a joey in her pouch.
Turtle park across the street from the zoo.
Flooding and a really cool bridge.
Me, Logan and the T-Rex at the Science Center
Logan riding on Scoop with Bob the Builder at the mall.
Eating brunch at the Three Monkeys. Yum!
Even though it was rainy and cool we had a great time!

My Favorite Things in March
March was such a busy month here in the Scott house. With Logan's birthday party, spring cleaning, a trip to the Children's Museum and lots of knitting there were lots of favorites form this month.
1. Logan's Birthday Week
We had so much fun celebrating Logan's birthday. I love watching his reactions to opening presents and talking to everyone that came to his party. It's all kind of bittersweet. I love watching him grow and learn but it's all happening so fast!
2. Our trip to the Lincoln Children's Museum. I'm not sure why I'm putting this on the favorites list because I hated every minute of it except for watching Logan take it all in. He at least seemed to enjoy it.
3. Warm weather! There were a couple of days of really nice weather and then it disappeared. But it was nice while it was here.
4. Finishing my first ever sweater-woot! Now I'm working on sweater #2!
I hope everyone had a great March!
Off My Needles
I have finally knitted the last sleeve in my first ever sweater! It's been a long time coming! I started this project way back in January of 2012-so it's about time I finish it up. I have to admit that seaming is my least favorite part of knitting things-it takes a lot of patience and when I'm at the end of big project I don't have very much patience left. I'm going to be taking my time though because I really like how the pieces turned out and I want to like the seamed sweater just as much-plus I want to wear it! I'm excited to be able to say that I'm wearing something I made. I know I can say that about a lot of other things like socks and scarves but a sweater just seems so much more impressive.
Love it!
