On My Needles

I've been knitting up a storm lately-I even took the whole week off from running so I could finish a couple of things.

The first project is a sweater that I made for a coworker's fourth(!) baby boy.  It was the first sweater I've ever knitted and I think it turned out pretty good.

The second project is a football hat made for another coworker.  She found a crocheted hat  really similar to this and wanted it as a gift for her friend.  Since I've made this one I've been commissioned to make three more :)

My Birthday

I absolutely loved my birthday gifts this year!  I've always hated the light fixtures that came with our house and I just so happened to be looking at some online and found one for-wait for it....$99!!!  It's fabulous and I absolutely love it!  (I can't say it's my favorite present because three years ago-we found out we were pregnant and bought a house all around my birthday and four years ago I bought a car-but it's definitely a great present!)

Now we just need to buy five more fixtures and we'll be done :)

Another gift I received was this AMAZING birthday cake from Jared's coworker Erin.  I think it's the most delicious cake I've EVER eaten.  And it was so pretty!

Two more presents that I bought with my birthday money are two things that I've been wanting since I started knitting-a yarn swift and a ball winder.  These two things will save me tons of time!!

It was such a great birthday!

Logan's Beloved Truck

Grandma and Grandpa Scott gave Logan the cutest little truck-it has become one of his favorite things.  Since our driveway is sloped it's kept at their house. He loves this truck so much he cries when we put it back in the garage. Here are some pictures of him driving around in it.

Laundry Day

Most of my days off are usually filled with cleaning and laundry-this day was no different.  Logan loves to help and he loves to watch the washer fill up with water-so here he is sitting on the dryer "helping" me do laundry.

Future Architect or something else?

Logan loves to build things.  Whether it's a house or a castle for his dinosaurs or a garage for his cars he loves to build it-he also loves to destroy it.  It makes me wonder what he'll be when he grows up.  I'd love it if he'd pick something that would be able to support him and his family and wouldn't take up all of his nights, weekends and holidays.  So whenever I see him building something I think how exciting of a career that would be.

Whether he's an architect or a contractor...

or a janitor-I'll love him just the same.

My Favorite Things in July

Here are some of the Scott's favorite things from the month of July (just a little over due).

The start of the Olympics!!!  I am a huge fan of the Olympics-I love everything about them, from the opening ceremonies to the swimming (my favorite), gymnastics and diving.  I watched a huge amount of Olympics.  The first week of the games I didn't run once-I couldn't pull myself away from the TV.

Here are some pictures of Logan watching the opening ceremony.  You'll have to excuse the mess in our living room-he likes to destroy it on a daily basis ;)

Another favorite is Logan's new water table. Logan has always enjoyed playing in the water-he usually just plays with a bucket and some cups. I've been wanting to get him a water table for a long time but because of the heat a lot of places were sold out and I didn't want to pay $80 for one. Jared and I happened to be at a Target that we usually don't shop at and lo and behold there was a water table and on clearance no less! There was a couple looking at something extremely close to it-I don't know if it was the water table but the minute I saw that thing I snapped it off the shelf-yep I'm one of those shoppers. Especially when there's a big fat giant clearance sticker on it. (This is why I don't shop on Black Friday-I'd come home with a black eye).

My last favorite of July was seeing my neighbor across the street mow his yard in the dark.  I found this hilarious-who mows in the dark?  My neighbor with is big fancy mower equipped with headlights that's who :)

July flew by so fast and it's already almost the end of August-I just can't believe how quick it's going.  It was a great month but I'm hoping for some cooler weather and some rain-we need it desperately.  I hope all of you had a good month!
