Jared's Birthday

Jared's birthday was on Thursday-he ended up working his butt off in the yard all day-which looks great!  I made dinner and had picked him up an ice cream cake from Hy-Vee (yum!)  It was a good time-good food, good cake, and he enjoyed his gifts.

Logan at Two Years

I am constantly amazed at the amount of things Logan knows and can say-he'll repeat anything you ask him to.  Here are some of the things that he likes to do.
*He likes to point out letters on the keyboard and signs in Target.
*He loves the show Dinosaur Train and would be content to sit and watch it all day long (if we let him).
*LOVES being outside and cries when it's time to come inside.
*He says "I hold you" when he wants to be held :)
*We were watching Monsters Inc-it was at the part when Sully says goodbye to Boo-I was bawling (of course) and I looked over at Logan and he was bawling too!!
*If you're not looking at him and he's asking for something he'll scream MOMMY at the top of his lungs or he'll pull your face around to look at him.
*Loves to give kisses and hugs-I ask him for kisses and he'll say "Cheeks!" and he has to kiss both of my cheeks.
*Loves taking walks in his trike.
*Loves to "drive" any thing.  He'll sit in the drivers seat and pretend to drive.
*When he wants something usually a snack (M&M's) he'll come get you and lead you by the had to it.
*He likes to say Mama help or Mama do it, he also likes to say I do it.
*When he wakes up from his nap the first thing he says is M&M's?  Buddy? (Buddy is the T-Rex on Dinosaur train)

Here are some of the words and phrases he says a lot:
um
Buddy
Vaney (Devaney our dog)
I okay
I fine
beep (his way of saying move)
chocolate
counter
candy and M&M's
chips
Bit bit (blanket)
Peease (Please)
Oh my (one of my favorite expressions)
Love you
Gold Fish
I don't like it
I like it
He can name any dinosaur from Dinosaur train even the kind of dinosaur it is!  He's such a smart kid-it's so much fun to see him growing up into this little person.

Spring has sprung...

...a while ago it seems.  A lot of my flowers are just starting to bloom-since the weather has been so mild all winter and the spring has been so hot, it seems much later than it really is.  I love flowers so I'm really excited!!

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers-so pretty and here are the first ones to bloom.

The side of the house that Jared mulched (the bricks near the left of the picture are new-it's where we keep our garbage can)
 My spring flower wreath
This is the plant we affectionately call "the carpet" it smells amazing!  You can see on the left side of the flowers is part of "the carpet" that hasn't bloomed yet.

The front of our house (My favorite place in the whole world!)

My rose bush-just starting to bud out

My hibiscus!!!!!

My clematis! Yay!  I didn't think it would make it another year-but it's looking pretty hardy-it even has some buds on it :)

That's What He Said

I was on the computer logging out of Ebay and there are always ads on the log out page.  One of the ads was for Geico with a picture of the gecko.  Logan was looking at the screen, pointed and said, "Gecko!"  I looked at him and said, "You know what that is?  Where's the gecko?"  He said "Right there!" and pointed to it.  Gosh he's smart!

The Swing Set

Logan has a swing set!  We've been looking in to getting him one and they're just so expensive.  Jared's dad mentioned there were pieces of one left from some previous homeowner.  So they put it together and Jared's mom stained it-it looks great! All we had to do was buy the swings and the rings-not too shabby considering we were looking at spending at least $350.  Logan couldn't be happier-I have to admit I've gotten some use out of it too :)  I love looking out the window and seeing it-it brings back memories of when I was young.

That's What He Said

Logan and Jared were playing hide-and-seek tonight.  Logan was counting, "Two, four ready or not here I come!"  He would go all over the house saying "Daddy where are you?"  He'd look behind something and say "Nope!" and move on to the next spot.  So cute!!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend-it was really busy but we definitely had a great time. Saturday morning was a double bridal shower which was Pampered Chef-I love that stuff! When I got back from the shower I had to make a pasta salad for dinner at my parents house Saturday evening. When we got back from my parents I made dessert for dinner at Jared's grandparents house. It was such a fun weekend-lots of family, fun, and food. And of course egg hunts and chocolate!

I love wreaths-and this one from Target caught my eye.

Logan's Easter basket (full of dinos of course!)

Jared's "basket" is on the left mine is the right :)

My Favorite Things of March

March blew by in a hurry (I think my head is still spinning) so I'll try to remember as many things that I loved in March as I can.

  1. My new Kitchen Aid slicer/shredder attachment-I haven't used this yet but I bought it in March so it counts right? I wanted a food processor but those things are so pricey and this does everything I would need a food processor for and way cheaper-win win! Plus I didn't pay a dime for it-gotta love Kohl's.

  2. Spring cleaning my house. I try to do this before we have Logan's birthday party. I go all out even lemon oiling ALL of the wood work in the house. As much as I don't like doing it I love the result.

  3. Logan's birthday of course! (Even though it may be a little bittersweet-I can't believe he's two!)

  4. Ravelry-I don't think I've mentioned this one before-but man am I addicted. It's a website dedicated to knitters and crocheters and I could spend an entire day on there!

  5. The weather-holy cow it's been strange-80 degrees in March? I'm not complaining though I'll take it over snow.

I'm sure there are way more things that I loved in March but like I said I spent a lot of time cleaning and the other time knitting :) If I wasn't knitting I was on Ravelry looking at all the things that I want to knit. Well I hope all of you had a great March-we did here at the Scott's house!

Logan's 2nd Birthday Party

Logan turned 2 on March 11th. How time flies! We did a Dr. Seuss theme and it turned out great!

These are all the decals we had placed all over the house.

Of course Jared thought one belonged on the toilet seat ;)

Aw-one of those rare family pictures :)

Yum! I love birthday cake!

Giant pile of presents-this kid isn't spoiled is he?

Logan and Grandpa playing with trains

Great Grandpa couldn't resist-he had to join in for the fun

I never took a good shot of the food- we had "green" eggs, sausage and cheese with crackers, veggies and dip, goldfish crackers and punch.

I also used Dr. Seuss books for decorations-we had a blast and Logan loved the gifts he received. It was an all around great day.
