Logan's First Zoo Trip

I decided that I really wanted to go to the Omaha zoo, it was time for Logan to see all of the neat exhibits and my favorite-the aquarium. It's been nearly 10 years since I've been there myself and even longer for Jared. Good friends of ours, Holly and Jason and their daughter Morgan live in Omaha so we invited them along as well as Mark and Beth. It was a really great time, the weather was perfect; not too hot or windy. Logan and Morgan had a blast!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

What a great weekend! I feel like I accomplished so much and at the same time got in some much needed relaxation. Jared's been working pretty hard too-we just purchased knobs/drawer pulls for the kitchen and bathrooms so he's been hard at work putting those in-they look great!

I finished my knitted bag and for my first I think it turned out pretty good. I'm hoping to start selling some things on Etsy-we'll see if how it goes.

This week at work-at least Tuesday is going to be a marathon-there are 31 eye cases on as of Friday afternoon-which is a ton! (The record for one day is 36)

I've started running on a regular basis and it feels great. I've been getting up early before work and I take the dog and we run around the neighborhood. It's really pretty peaceful that early and cool enough that I don't die. I've been going about a mile which isn't a lot but it's definitely been a challenge for me, I've never really enjoyed running.

Jared's been working out in the yard quite a bit and it's looking really good. I especially have been enjoying the peonies-they're so pretty! I'm hoping to get some hydraengas (blue and pink) I've always really loved those.

As Logan's getting older he's getting more and more ornery and brave. He loves to climb up on things and scare his poor mother to death.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's day to all of you moms out there!! I think Mother's day is so wonderful-Jared makes me feel so appreciated and there's always some cute gift. This year it was a card that Logan and his teachers made and tulips-my favorite!! I love being a mom-just seeing Logan's face melts my heart and makes me want to be a better person.

I can't wait until Father's day this year-Logan and I have a great gift for Jared! Well at least I think it's a great gift I'm sure Jared will have some comment about it :) He usually does-he's so hard to buy for.

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter everyone!! Today was wonderful-we went to church where there were lots of babies :) We then went to Harley and Lois' for lunch and an Easter egg hunt (Logan's first egg hunt). It was a lot of fun.

New Tricks

Logan has decided that he is going to be a stunt man when he grows up. His new favorite thing to do is stand on top of or in (which isn't as bad) his riding car. When he's standing on it he likes to dance around and goof off which of course scares the life out of me (I've been assured that I'm going to feel like this for the rest of my life).

Logan also likes to climb up on top of the coffee table-he swings one of his legs up there and just boosts himself up. He also likes to dance on the coffee table-isn't it a little too early for him to be dancing on tables?? :)

Speaking of new tricks I have completed my training in retinal (eye) surgery. It's pretty amazing to know that I'm helping people to get their sight back or helping people to not loose an eyeball. I haven't had anything too gruesome yet-but I have had to work on a four year old :( it was hard until I put the drape on him. Once the patient is covered up it's easier to remove yourself from the situation.
