The Whole Fam Damily

At the beginning of June Jared's family from Texas made the trip to Nebraska for a wedding.  We had a great time-especially the kids.  It was the first time that the three cousins (Logan, Rhett and Trevor were all born in March!) were all together.  It was great to see everyone.  For some of us it had been almost three years since we'd seen each other-hopefully it won't be that long until we see each other again.

My Favorite things of June

So I'm a little behind on my blog posts...I blame it on my Nook.  We'll just say I've been reading a lot :)  Anyhow here are my favorite things of June.

This is absolutely one of my favorite purchases ever!  My new running watch.  It tells me the distance I've ran, my pace (which is always slow), and if you plug it into the computer it will tell you all sorts of fun things.  It comes with a Nike chip that you can either put in your shoe (if you wear Nikes-which I don't) or you can buy a little pouch that clips into your laces.  LOVE this watch.  It's made running so much more fun for me-I don't have to stay on the bike path-I can go anywhere and know how far I've been.

At the moment I don't know why I'm adding this to my favorites list-maybe I'm hoping it will become one of my favorites?  Well I started using Clinique three step system-hoping that I could quit the acne cream that I had been on.  As of today I'm really broken out and want to put a bag over my head every time I leave the house but I'm sticking with it.  I've decided that the burning, bleaching and flaking that are associated with all acne creams are not worth it anymore and I refuse to take any medication unless I'm in severe pain (gotta keep those kidneys healthy!) so that's not in my future either.  So here I am listing this as a favorite.  It does have some good things going for it-if my skin weren't completely red and bumpy I'd be happy with it :)

That's all for June-I've pretty much spent most of my spare time running and cooking-so not too much to report on this month.

On the Rocks

Logan and I were out on the deck-I was enjoying the breeze in the shade and he was playing in his water bucket (yeah we're high tech here in the Scott house).  He decided he was making drinks for us and this is what he brought me:
A drink on the rocks-literally :)

On My Needles

I think that since I've started running again I've had so much more energy so I've been finding lots of time for knitting projects.  Here's what I just finished.  It's a little poncho for a coworker who's pregnant with a little girl (obviously) and due in September.  I'm so excited to give this to her.  I'm also making matching booties.

Mini Me

Last night when I was getting ready for bed Jared came in and told me to go look at Logan.

He had put on my Ipod running band and put the ear phones in his ears and told Jared, "I go running."  So funny!

My Favorite Things in May

Wow time flies!  I can't believe that it's already June.  Here are some of my favorite things from May.

Our trip to KC.  Such a fun time!

The scarf that I knitted on the way to KC :)

Goes great with the gray, right?

The elephant that I knitted for Jared's coworker, Erin.

Cute little bugger.

And last but not least-running.  I've started running again-I love running in the heat-I've run over 50 miles since the beginning of May!  I'm hoping to get a running watch soon to help me track my distance so I don't have to keep running the same path over and over again.  Here's a funny ad that was in a magazine not too long ago-I saw this and bust out laughing-it's so true!

This now hangs on my fridge ;)

These were the things that really stuck out at me from May-I hope you all had a good month!
